Free 15 Hours Funding: All 3 to 4-year-olds in England can get 15 hours per week, 38 weeks of the year, free early education or childcare from the term after their 3rd birthday.

9 months plus funding – From this September 2025, 15 hours childcare for working families with children under 3 will expand to 30 hours, meaning eligible working families can now apply for 30 hours of childcare from the term after their child turns 9 months until they reach school age.
Apply for your childcare code by 31 August to start using the support from September. You will need to reconfirm your details every 3 months via your GOV.UK account. 30 Hours Funding or Tax Free Childcare: Tax-Free Childcare and 30 hours free childcare are two separate government schemes, to help parents with the cost of childcare. Both schemes were effective from September 2017. You can apply for both schemes through one online application to HM Revenue and Customs. No Recourse to Public Funding (NRPF) – If you have ‘no recourse to public funds (NRPF) because of your status, then your children can still access childcare in the UK. There may be requirements for you to access childcare for free.
