General Questions

What kind of curriculum do you follow?
Our curriculum is based on EYFS framework that we build on, through the seven areas of learning. It enables the child to develop their personalities, talents and abilities. In turn, our children also develop a sense of self, feel positive about their abilities as a learner, form constructive relationships, and become confident communicators. We also publish curriculum items and information in our termly newsletter. We have a Nursery SENCO who works closely with Early Years Team to support those children and their families who require additional help with their learning and development.
Is there a sleep or rest time?
We recognise parents’ knowledge of their child with regards to sleep routines and we work together to ensure each child’s individual sleep routines and well-being continues to be met. However, staff will not force a child to sleep or keep them awake against his or her will. We can provide sleep mats and blankets if younger children do fall asleep.
Is outdoor play supervised?
Yes, at all times. Our staff use active supervision strategies to make sure children of all ages explore outdoor environment safely. Our active supervision with focused attention and intentional observation at all times promotes a safe environment and prevents injuries. We encourage parents to ensure they pack relevant outdoor wear including a raincoat, wellies, sun cream, sun hat or trainers for relevant weather conditions.
What are the staff qualifications?
All our staff are childcare certified and trained to level 3 or above. We have a strong workforce with some of our management team having qualifications up to level 6 in Childcare. All our staff have recognised Paediatric First Aid and safeguarding level 2 qualification. Our staff undergo continuous professional development and training to ensure that they are fully trained to the highest standards to provide a quality education for all children.
